Blow the Candles Out

Today was my aunt's birthday, a date that about a year ago, most doctors thought she'd never live to see.

It's been about a year since we first got the news that she had breast cancer, and it's amazing to think about how far she's come. She's in her final round of chemo, this time only to make sure that all of the cancer is gone, and if we're lucky, it won't come back for another 10 years. She beat what most said she couldn't.

But now as one challenge ends, another begins for my family: recently, my dad got orders to be stationed in Israel and Tampa (flying back and forth) for the next 400 days. This means that my mom is going to be alone taking care of me, who is going through major tests, prep courses, and open houses for high school next year; my 10 year old sister, who is majorly involved in too many sports and activities to begin naming; and my 3 year old, talkative, curious, troublesome sister. So, as you can imagine, I'm going to have to be helping out a lot.

Now, I know I already do a suckish job updating SL already, but I'm warning any fans now that I'm not going to be as active as I'd like. I'm going to try my best though to at least post short blog posts, if not longer ones, fairly often. Don't expect all that many graphics/layout changes, though. As much as I'd like to switch the layout often, it just takes a lot of work. Sorry :|

My dad leaves in a week, so I'm going to be spending as much time with him as possible until then, so don't expect anything quite so soon.

That's all for now; Izz :)

Room Re-do

I know, I'm the worst webmisstress ever. How long has it been since I last updated? I have been working on some things, though. A new layout is in the works... I hope it turns out well...

But for now, I need some advice from you guys. Demanding, I know. The title makes this pretty self explainitory. My room right now is in orderly chaos. It's a mix between my old room theme from when I was little (Animal Junction from Zabomafoo... Did anyone else ever watch that show?) and what I'm trying to make it.

I've already got a color scheme: lime green, turquoise, and lavender (my mom made me throw that in there to "tone it down"). I've already got the bedding, curtains, a lamp, and a purple fuzzy chair... But where do I go next? For the time being, I can't paint my room... It'll have to remain white with the color scheme polka-dots. My rug is tanish-cream color, and I know I can't get that changed.

I really want my room to be a place that's great to relax in, but fun and energetic at the same time. Ultimately, it should reflect me. Any suggestions will be welcome!
